People’s questions about ECU Blackboard
How do I login to Blackboard?
You need to open the ECU Homepage and select Student and Staff Portal.
Login using your username and password. Your Student Portal site will open. You can then select Blackboard from the Easy Logins menu.
Can I access Blackboard on my smartphone or mobile device?
Yes, you can access Blackboard on your smartphone or mobile device from within your browser. You can also download a dedicated Blackboard App called ‘Blackboard’.
Why can’t I see my units in Blackboard?
Your research materials are generally not available that you get before the first week of your research semester. If it’s possible to access materials prior to this time, you must bear in mind that you may be seeing old study materials which may change at the start of your session.
You must firstly check that you’re correctly enrolled in the device. You can do that by logging in to SIMO, and choosing’Study Timetable’.
If your unit is listed in your research program on SIMO, then you’re registered. If you have properly enrolled on your own unit and it isn’t listed in Blackboard, then your research materials may not yet be accessible. Maybe check again closer to the start of your research semester.
Why can’t I see my grades listed on Blackboard?
You will only find your grades on Blackboard if your lecturer chooses to allow you access to them. To access you grades, go into the unit in Blackboard, and either select ‘Tools’ or ‘My Grades’ from the unit menu. You can also click on the individual assignment to view your grades.
